Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek today said that all the patients injured due to the tragic fire at Sitakunda in Chittagong received 100% medical services.
"All kinds of medical services have been ensured for all the patients injured due to the tragic fire at Sitakunda ... Medical services are being provided at the Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in the capital in Dhaka too," he said. He said this after inspecting the overall medical services of the patients undergoing treatment at the Sitakunda fire at Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in the capital this afternoon.
"In addition to the Burn Institute, other general hospitals in the area have been provided with adequate doctors and nurses on 24-hour duty, he said.
"A special medical team has been sent to Chittagong from Dhaka to monitor the medical services of the patients injured in the Sitakunda fire, he added.
"Our Prime Minister himself is taking care of the matter... The government hospitals in Chittagong and Dhaka are ready to provide maximum services for the proper treatment of the victims of this fire," he said.
Secretary of Health Education Department Md. Saiful Hasan Badal, Director General of Health Department Prof. Dr. Abul Basar Mohammad Khurshid Alam, President of Bangladesh Medical Association Dr. Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin and General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami Juba Mahila League Apu Ukil were present.
