Training of 29 journalists from Koira and Paikgacha upazila held in Press Institute of Bangladesh

Md, Masuduzzaman (Rajib) :  A total of 29 journalists from Koira and Paikgacha upazilas of Khulna district participated in the seminar room of Press Institute Bangladesh, PIB (19-21) for three days till September 2023. This training titled 'Basic Training in Journalism (Residential)' was inaugurated by the Director General of Press Institute Bangladesh, PIB, Zafar Wazed last September 19 (Tuesday) in coordination with Zilhaj Uddin Nipun, Assistant Trainer of Press Institute Bangladesh, PIB. Last 21 September (Thursday) was the last day of the three-day training and the certificate distribution ceremony among the trainees. Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority, Executive Chairman of BEZA, Sheikh Yusuf Harun, was present as the chief guest in the event under the supervision of PIB officer Nazmul Hossain.The chief guest said in his speech, ❝ fake information is served on social media Facebook the most; There is a big difference between Facebook and newspapers. Facebook being an unedited medium, fake information is served the most. And because of the large number of readers, it becomes easy to spread rumours. Considering these things, the readership of the newspaper should be increased. The condition of Mofswal's newspapers is very critical. Because there are countless mistakes in spelling and sentence structure. That is why he emphasized on the issue of sentence style and correct spelling. He also recalled some facts before and after the Great War of Independence and highlighted the brutality of anti-independence activists in Kapilmuni, Boalia region of Khulna district and later their punishment in mob court.❞ Zafar Wazed, Director General of Press Institute Bangladesh PIB as the president of the event; ❝Encourages journalists to engage with technology and says journalists have a responsibility to society. In consideration of those, the society should play a role to move forward. He also said that the scope of work of freelance journalists is more than Dhaka journalist. Because journalists in Dhaka have assignments on specific bits or topics. But paid journalists get the opportunity to work on sports, politics, economy, social degradation, discrimination.❞ On this occasion, the president of the program presented the book 'Media and Bangabandhu' to the chief guest and later handed over the training certificates to 29 journalists. The Director of Study and Training Department of Press Institute Bangladesh, PIB, (current duty) Sheikh Majlish Fuad and Editor of Dainik Ajker Sangbad, SM Abu Said and others were also present on the occasion.
