In Habiganj district, a covered van and a CNG-powered autorickshaw collided on Monday, killing six people.
In the death of these four individuals, the author identifies them as Ahad Mia, 30, Hanufa, 25, Shohagh Mia, 28, Shopon Mia, 25, Rahela, 30, and Alamgir Mia, 28.
Mainul Islam, the officer-in-charge of Shayestaganj Highway police camp, said the collision occurred when the driver of an auto-rickshaw attempted to overtake a truck on the highway at around 7 am.
A PRAN Group factory employee said that all of the deceased were traveling by the auto-rickshaw to Olipur.
One survivor is being treated at Habiganj Sadar Hospital. Six perished on the spot, according to the OC.
Moreover, he indicated that a legal case would be filed in the near future over the issue. Following the incident, however, the driver was able to escape.
A tailback of at least two hours on the busy highway occurred after the accident that halted traffic movement.
