Mahabub Rahman Biplab, Bureau Chief Rangpur: Unidentified 7/8 robbers cut trees and threw them on the road along the paved road to Badarganj-Laldighi near North Amrulbari Kalirhat under Damodarpur UP in Badarganj of Rangpur and committed robbery with various types of indigenous weapons. Decorator businessman Mizanur Rahman and his lighting engineer Arup Roy were on their way to Badarganj from Dholaighat on a motorcycle when they were robbed first. The unidentified robbers caught the two men, beat them up and looted the cash along with mobile phones. The victim's motorcycle was left on the road and the victim was tied hand and foot and dropped off the road near a nearby irrigation pump. About ten minutes later, while coming from Pathanerhat to Badarganj, the policeman SI Mehdi Hasan was arrested on the spot by the robbers with a motorcycle, looted the cash along with his mobile phone and beat him up with serious injuries on his head, face and legs and tied his hands and feet and left him in the field lane on the side of the road. About ten minutes after the incident, Shariful Islam, working in ACI Company, was also caught by the robbers at the spot and robbed him of his mobile phone and cash. When the duty patrol team of Badarganj police station reached the spot while the robbers were beating up the victim Shariful, the robbers left the victim's three motorcycles at the spot and fled in the misty night with a total of 3 mobile sets and a total of Rs. 11,300/-. Badarganj Thana Police rescued the victims and brought them to Badarganj Upazila Health Complex and admitted them for treatment. Badarganj police station case no-05/21 dated 02/02/2024 AD Section-395/397 of the Penal Code was registered against the unidentified robbers in this incident. Decorator businessman Mizanur Rahman filed the case as plaintiff. Badarganj Thana police started investigating the robbery incident and after uncovering the main mystery, 1 was involved in the robbery incident. Md. Mostakin Ali (31), father - Md. Abdul Majid alias Vebla 2. Md Milan Mia (23), father- Md Abdul Mabud, 3. Md. Taher Mia (30), Father - Md. Abdul Karim, all of them - Amrulbari Hatkholapara, 4. Md. Shahjahan Ali (50), father- Md. Saidar Rahman, Sang-Kalupara Karengapara, 5. Md. Morshedul Ali alias Morshed (28), Father- Md. Sahar Ali, Sang- Taluk Damodarpur Banupara, 6. Md Noornabi (29), father- deceased Shahidul Islam, Sang-Dlua Purbapara, 7. Md. Abu Kashem (56), Father- Md. Abu Bakkar Siddique, Sang- Gopalpur Dakshin Para, All Thana- Badarganj District- Rangpurgan arrested and recovered 3 looted mobile sets. Also the accused Shahjahan Ali and Morshedul Ali alias Morshed voluntarily gave confessional statements before the learned Court. The hunt for other gang members involved in the incident continues.
