Md. Masuduzzaman (Rajib) : A mobile court in Mirsrai on wednesday imposed a fine of Tk 2 lakh on 'Ma Money Poultry Farms' at Temuhani in Katchchara UP for polluting the canal water by the poultry waste.Meanwhile, the company warned the Poultry farm not to throw contaminated waste into the canal. So called company was given one month ultimatum to stop the poisonus water supply as well as to develop its own waste management.
Besides, a sweetmeat factory named 'S B Sweets' was fined Tk 30,000 by the same mobile court in the same area for producing sweets in a dirty and unhygienic environment.
In this regard, the Executive Magistrate of the Mobile Court and Mirsarai Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mizanur Rahman told 'Daily Tourist' that a poultry farm has been fined Tk 2 lakh and a sweet factory has been fined Tk 30,000 for environmental pollution. In Zorarganj area, agricultural land plots were sold and houses were built. Later it was demolished.
He further elaborates, Such operations will continue for the public interest.
