Seven people including three members of a family were killed in two separate road accidents in Mirzapur upazila of the district today.
Officer-in-Charge of Mirzapur Thana Sheikh Abu Saleh Masud Karim said a woman, her son and daughter were crushed under the wheels of a bus when crossing Bangabandhu Setu-Dhaka Highway at Jamurki at around 11:45 am.
The deceased were identified as Parveen, 35, her son Sumon, 8, and her daughter Sadia, 6. They were the residents at Bashtoil Poshchimpara in Mirzapur upazila. Sadia died on the spot while mother Parveen and her son
Sumon were declared dead at Tangail general Hospital.
Besides, four people were killed and 9 others injured as a bus hit them at Dulla Munsur in the early hours of today on the Highway. Three people were killed on the spot while another one succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.Injured people were admitted to Mirzapur Kumudini Hospital.
Officer-in-Charge of Gorai Highway Thana Molla Tutul confirmed this.
