Mahabub Rahman Biplab, Bureau Chief Rangpur: In Rangpur's Badarganj, his sister's house was set on fire late at night without being able to take possession of it by force and forceful threats.
  It has been mentioned in the complaint lodged by the housewife that Tk 10 lakh 20 thousand was lost due to arson. The arson incident took place in Chandkuthi village early on Monday morning.
It is known that the talented and hard-working elder daughter of Nurul Haque Mahuri of the upazila, Noor Nahar Shilpi worked tirelessly for a house of her own for several years and bought land in Chandkuthi village and built a four-roomed house. Swami Masud Rana was living a happy and peaceful life with his younger brothers and sisters. The housewife artist could not keep that happiness for long. Husband migrates abroad to earn money. Since the artist has no children and her husband is out of the country, the siblings took this opportunity to look at the artist's living space and financial resources. With this, the artist's siblings started to get into trouble. One by one, the relationship with the elder sister artist was broken. The housewife artist became lonely. A circle of false slanders against him in the society. To get him out of the village, the gang put his younger brother behind him. At one stage, his younger brother Saeed wants to write down the land and habitat purchased by the sister artist. Younger brother Saeed threatened to kill the artist and occupy the house as he did not agree to his words.
On the day of the incident, the housewife Shilpi spent the entire day on Sunday at the polling station of the national parliament election, returned in the afternoon, ate at night and fell asleep alone like every day. Meanwhile, between 3 am and 4 am, the house was set on fire by pouring petrol in an attempt to kill the sleeping housewife Shilpi. At that time, the neighbors saw the fire and rescued the housewife, but could not save any belongings of her house. Housewife Shilpi said, "My own brother Saeed and many others are involved in the arson incident. I have filed a written complaint at the police station, requesting the intervention of the police administration for my safety along with the arrest of the criminals." The loss due to fire is about 10 lakh 20 thousand taka. Saddam Hossain, municipal beat officer in charge of the police station, investigated the incident of arson at the housewife's house on Tuesday.
