Md Mizanur Rahman Kurigram District correspondant : Election Commission is going to announce the schedule of upazila parishad elections nationwide this January. The current chairman of Ulipur Upazila Parishad of Kurigram,veteram freedom fighter( Bir Muktijoddha) Golam Hossain Montu, is the general secretary of Ulipur Upazila branch of Bangladesh Awami League. Golam Hossain Montu already during his tenure as Chairman of Ulipur Upazila Parishad, through test relief, food in exchange for work, money in exchange for work, 40-day soil-cutting program, non-ways project, LGSP, ADB and various development projects including roads, offices, schools, colleges, madrasas, bridge culverts. He implemented the renovation and construction work in a very transparent manner. With the sole efforts of Golam Hossain Montu, all kinds of government facilities were provided transparently to the beneficiaries including VGF, VGD, old age allowance, widow allowance, child allowance, disability allowance. The leaders, workers and supporters of all the affiliated organizations of Bangladesh Awami League including Ulipur Upazila Awami League, Jubo League, Volunteer League, Shramik League, Chhatra League, Fishermen's League want to see him as the worthy candidate of Bangladesh Awami League for the post of chairman in the upcoming Ulipur Upazila Parishad elections. Local Awami League leader Babu Sardar, Alam said that the current chairman of Ulipur Upazila Parishad, public leader Golam Hossain Montu is a clean man. If he is given the party nomination again, he will win with a huge margin this time. In this regard, Golam Hossain Montu, who is hoping for the party nomination of Bangladesh Awami League in the upcoming elections of Ulipur Upazila Parishad, said that all the party leaders, workers and supporters of Bangladesh Awami League and its affiliated organizations are with me. The opportunist faction within the Awami League worked against the party several times, but they were defeated. That is why the candidate of boat has won in Kurigram 3 seats. To maintain this victory, we will win the boat candidate again in the upazila parishad elections in the future, inshallah.
