News Desk: President Abdul Hamid went to Germany for health examination. On Saturday, the President left Dhaka for the German capital Berlin on a Qatar Airlines flight. The President's wife Rashida Khanam is accompanying him on the visit.
Liberation War Affairs Minister Akam Mozammel Haque, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador to the Vatican Archbishop George Kocheri bade farewell to the President at the Hazrat Shahjalal (ra) International Airport.
Also present were Cabinet Secretary, Chiefs of the three Armies, Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office, Ambassadors of the United Kingdom and Germany to Bangladesh, IG of Police and other officials.
The president's press secretary Joynal Abedin told the media that the president's health would be examined at a charity hospital in Berlin. The President is scheduled to return to the country on October 22 via London, UK after a health check-up in Berlin.
Abdul Hamid, 6, has been suffering from glaucoma for a long time. Due to which he has to go for regular treatment. Even after becoming the President, Abdul Hamid underwent several health check-ups in London.
The president went to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, last year for a health check-up after the coronavirus epidemic.
