Staff Reporter: A team of Zorarganj police station arrested a young man named Abdur Rahim Hriday (22) in Bamansunder Bazar on December 17 (Sunday) afternoon on the charge of vandalizing Shaheed Minar in Mirsarai. He is the son of Ali Ullah alias Shahab Mia of Iman Ali Boli Bari village of Ward No. 9 of Kantachara Union.
According to the police and local sources said , On the occasion of the National Victory Day December 16 (Saturday), leaders and activists of various organizations paid tribute to Bamansunder FA High School Shaheed Minar. When everyone left at noon, Abdur Rahim nicknamed Hridoy wore a jersey and shoes imitating Pakistan and climbed up to the altar of Shaheed Minar, throwing flowers and vandalizing the Shaheed Minar with a stick in his hand.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Zorarganj Police Station Abdullah Al Haroon confirming the incident to 'The Daily Tourist correspondant that when a Special Powers Act case was filed against the attacker at Zorarganj police station yesterday (Monday), the accused was sent to jail through the court.
