Alam Khan: Shibpur Upazila Health Complex of Narsingdi with 50 beds. Trusted medical center for the marginal population of the upazila. The health complex with 31 beds was established in 1982 to ensure health services for the upazila residents. A new building was constructed to upgrade the 31-bed hospital to 50 beds to ensure medical care for about five lakh people of Shibpur Upazila.
In January 2014, this new building of 50 beds was inaugurated by the incumbent Narsingdi-3 Constituency Member of Parliament, Alhaj Zahirul Haque Bhuiyan Mohan. Health service activities are continuing after receiving administrative approval for 50 beds. A new building with 50 beds is next to the old building. "During the global pandemic corona period" in the modern building, the corona ward was set up on the second floor of the new building and hundreds of corona patients were admitted and cured by the corona fighter doctors with health services. The chief assistant of the hospital, Rashedul Kamal, said that more than 700 hundred patients are receiving services from medicine, gynaecologist, orthopedic and pediatric doctors every day. A businessman next to the hospital said, "Since the operation of the 50-bed hospital has started, we have got an opportunity to get better treatment." Statistics have shown that almost every day more patients are admitted in the wards than the designated beds.
