Two workers were killed and eight others injured after a timber-laden truck overturned at Taikorma area in Guimara upazila of Khagrachhari around 7:30am on Tuesday.
Two critically injured were sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) and the rest to Manikchari Upazila Health Complex. The deceased were identified as Raju, 35, son of Altaf Hossain, of Gochchabil village in Manikchari upazila and Ilias, 36, son of Md Abdul Kadir.
Muhammad Rashid, Officer-in-charge of Guimara Police Station, said two workers, who were on the truck, died on the spot after it overturned in the area. Later, local people recovered eight injured and sent them to Manikchari Upazila Health Complex.
Md Shahnur Alam, Officer-in-charge of Manikchari Police Station, said eight injured people including the truck driver were admitted to the upazila health complex. Later, two seriously injured were taken to CMCH.
