Mahabub Rahman Biplab, Head of Divisional Bureau Rangpur: There have been allegations of widespread irregularities, corruption and trade in the appointment of employees in Patikaghat High School of Parbatipur Upazila of Dinajpur District of Rangpur Division. Petitioners filed a suit in court as plaintiffs.
It is known that 9 people applied for the post of office assistant, 5 people for the post of cleaning staff and 7 people for the post of nanny in Patikaghat High School of Parvatipur Upazila. According to the petitioners and residents, Shamiul Bachir's government took bribes of lakhs of taka per person from the school president, head teacher, assistant teacher recruitment committee management and the school development fund in the agreement to give jobs to Sharifa Banu and Ariful in the positions of nanny and janitor. Meanwhile, the school authorities secretly extort huge amount from 10/12 more applicants by saying the same thing. As a result, tussle started between the school authorities regarding the recruitment response. The president and the headmaster are desperate to get their manput and the biggest bribe giver in the recruitment board. Irrespective of the recruitment policy, where the admit card of the written exam should reach the applicants 10/12 days before, the applicants get the admit card the day before the exam. Not only that, the recruitment test was held in a school of another upazila after changing its own upazila. First the employee recruitment exam date was 25/10/23. When the applicants informed the matter in writing to various government departments, the recruitment test was declared suspended. On the same day, the notice board of the school informed that on 29/10/23, Birampur Government Girls School of Birampur Upazila recruitment test was held. Without checking the merit in the examination, the recruitment committee and the school authorities are colluding with all the bribe givers and their intended candidates to pass the recruitment examination and give the recruitment letter. Meanwhile, among the petitioners, Shamiul Bachir Sarkar and Sharifa Banu have separately filed a case in the district court in the name of government officials attached to the appointment committee including the school president and headmaster. The headmaster said that there was no irregularity or trading in the recruitment, as per the rules, the work related to the recruitment of employees has been completed. The petitioner and plaintiff in the case, Chamiul Bachir Sarkar said, "This appointment is completely illegal, so I have filed a case in the court in the hope of justice."
