DHAKA, Oct 18, 2021 (BSS) - Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority
(BEPZA) has celebrated the 'Sheikh Russel Day-2021' as a part of Sheikh
Russel's, the youngest son of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, nationwide
birthday celebration.
Executive Chairman of BEPZA Major General Md Nazrul Islam along with its
high officials today placed a wreath at the portrait of Sheikh Russel on the
BEPZA Complex premises in the city, said a press release here.
Marking the day, a discussion meeting was held at BEPZA Executive Office.
In his speech, BEPZA Executive Chairman said: "If Russel had survived, he
would be a world-renowned philanthropist today."
As long as Bangladesh and Bengali speaking people are on the global map,
Sheikh Russell along with the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman will alive in the heart of Bengalis, he added.
BEPZA member (Engineering) Mohammad Faruque Alam, its General Manager
(Enterprise Services) Md Khorshid Alam, Chief Accounts and Finance Officer Md
Tofazzel Hossain also spoke in the programme.
BEPZA member (Finance) Nafisa Banu, its Secretary Md Zakir Hossain
Chowdhury and all departmental heads were present, among others, during this
time.
The eight EPZs including BEPZA Economic Zone also observed the day in a
same manner like the executive office.
