The district administration and city and district units of Awami League have chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children's Day to be held on Thursday next.
The national flags will be hoisted atop of all public and private buildings and the people from all walks of life will place wreathes at Bangabandhu sculpture here on the occasion.
Special prayers will be offered at mosques, temples, churches and other religious institutions, seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu.Improved diet will be served at all hospitals, orphanage centers and jail to mark the day.
State-run Khulna Betar will broadcast special programmes while the local newspapers will bring out special supplements on the occasion.
Roads will be decorated with colourful banners and festoons which will give the city a festive look.Discussion will be held in the morning at Khulna Shilpakola Academy followed by a cultural programme along with children abiding by health rules.
Local administration will held separate programmes at Bangabandhu's memorial places while essay and art competition for the children will be arranged there.
