The 13th death anniversary of noted nuclear scientist and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's husband Dr. M A Wazed Miah (Sudha Miah) was observed at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) today.
On behalf of Vice-chancellor (VC) of BRUR Professor Dr. Hasibur Rahman, its Pro VC Prof Dr. Sarifa Salowa Dina placed wreaths at the grave of Dr. Wazed
in his native village Laldighee Fatehpur in Pirganj upazila here paying rich tribute to the nuclear scientist with international repute in the morning.
Later, officials of Dr. Wazed Research and Training Institute, leaders of Begum Rokeya University Teachers' Association, Teachers' Association and
Officers' Association placed wreaths there paying rich tribute to Dr Wazed.
Proctor of the university Md. Golam Rabbani, Director of the Office of External Affairs Md. Sabbir Ahmed Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Chemistry Dr. Bijan Mohan Chaki, Head of the Department of Public Administration Department Md. Asaduzzaman Mandal Asad, Executive Director of Campus Radio Dr. Nitai Kumar Ghosh, President of the Begum Rokeya University Teachers Association ATGM Golam Feroz, teachers, officers and employees of different departments were present, among others.
A milad and dua mehfil was arranged at the Central Mosque of the university after Johr prayers while special munajats were offered seeking divine
blessings and eternal peace for the departed soul of Dr. Wazed and his other departed family members.
