Among the remanded individuals are actors Pori Moni and Helena Jahangir who have been summoned to disclose the details of their bank accounts to Bangladesh Bank. Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), a central bank unit, has sent a letter to many banks on Wednesday. Other individuals whose transaction information was sought by the BFIU include "models" Faria Mahbub Piasa and Mariam Akter, and producer Nazrul Islam. More information about three other individuals' bank accounts is sought. Rozina Akter comes from Banaripara in Barishal, and Saleh Chowdhury alias Carlos and Mishu Hasan are sons of Neamat Ullah from Mohammadpur in Dhaka. Shamsun Nahar Smrity has been mentioned as Pori Moni's full name, along with her address Mathbaria in Pirojpur district.
BFIU sought information on the bank accounts of these individuals at the request of an intelligence agency, it has been reported. BFIU officials requested their account opening forms, information about their transactions, loan information, and current balances of their current accounts, savings accounts, and loans.
Any anomalies found when analyzing the accounts will be investigated by law enforcement.
Moreover, information about the bank accounts of many others will be sought shortly.
