Shamsunnahar Smrity, otherwise known as Pori Moni, was denied bail by a Dhaka magistrate court on Wednesday.
The order was issued by Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Debbobroto Biswas. As a result of a criminal investigation filed under the Narcotics Control Act, the actress was brought before the court.
A five-day remand was also sought by the CID in order to question the actress under their custody. A hearing will be held to determine the court's ruling regarding the remand petition.
In an arrest under the Narcotic Control Act, Pori Moni was held with several liquor bottles at her Banani residence on August 4.
Md Mamunur Rashid ordered Pori Moni and Deputy Assistant Dipu each to stand trial for four days the following day.
