Roknuzzaman Sabuj Jamalpur: In protest of BNP and Jamaat's arson attacks, anarchy and violent incidents across the country, a procession and peace rally was held under the leadership of Awami League Mayor Abdul Quader Sek, who is hoping to be nominated by Awami League from Jamalpur-2 (Islampur) constituency in the 12th National Assembly Election.
On Monday (October 2) afternoon, a huge procession came out from the Government Islampur College ground and marched on the main road of the city. Later a peace rally was held at Thana Mor (Battala Square).
In the 12th National Assembly elections, Awami League's nominee from Jamalpur-2 (Islampur) seat and joint general secretary of Upazila Awamili League, Municipal Mayor Abdul Quader Sheikh.
Mayor Abdul Quader Sekh said that to maintain the continuity of development and to form a smart Bangladesh of the future, Sheikh Hasina should be voted in power for the fourth time by voting for the boat brand. He said, I will continue this effort until I have a drop of blood in my body. Bangabandhu's daughter, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has become known as a role model for the development of today's Bangladesh. It is because of the leadership of Sheikh Hasina that Bangladesh has achieved so much today that has caught the attention of the world. Mayor Quader also said that the ground of Islampur is the Ghati of Awami League and Bangladesh Awami League Central Organizing Secretary Mirza Azmer. Therefore, I have been working day and night for the people of Islampur under the instructions of Sheikh Hasina and Mirza Azam. I am hoping to be nominated as an MP in the upcoming 12th National Parliament elections to further accelerate the development of this area. If Bangladesh Awami League President deems me worthy, then I have 100% confidence that I will be nominated. And even if I don't get the nomination, I will work for the nominee of People's Leader Sheikh Hasina. At this time, he asked the crowd to raise their hands and vote for the boat symbol. Due to paucity of time, other leaders could not address the meeting. So the mayor apologized to the leaders present. Awami League, Jubo League, Krishak League, Mahila League, Chhatra League, along with upazila, municipal and various union leaders, several thousand men and women participated in the march and peace rally.
The present crowd wants to see Mayor Abdul Quader Sek as MP in Jamalpur-2 Islampur Constituency in the coming days.
