Police have arrested 10 leaders and activists of the banned Chhatra League while they were preparing for a procession in the Sadarghat area of Chattogram city. In a press release sent to the media on Sunday morning (February 2), Sub-Inspector Mohammad Imran from the city's police public relations branch provided the details.
The arrested individuals are: Sabbir Hossain (23), Mohammad Sajid Irfan (20), Kamrul Islam Wasim (19), Sajjad Hossain Maruf (20), Abu Bakar Siddique (23), Mohammad Shahid Sabbir (22), Tanmoy Das (23), Niloy Shil (23), Kaushik Dhar (22), and Soleman Ahmed (25). According to the release, they were arrested around 7 PM on Saturday (February 1) in the Naval-2 area. The group had been preparing for a procession and sabotage activities. Legal action is underway against them.
