It is said that there is no use of Bengali year or Bengali date in our daily life. Bengali date is not used at any level in schools, offices, courts, banks-insurance, setting dates for foreign trips, etc. It is the only country on earth where people have given their lives in a movement to protect their language, where Bengali New Year is celebrated every year in a bustling atmosphere, with joyful festivals. In that country, Bengali year and Bengali date are neglected! In this situation, it is necessary to introduce the spirit of Pohela Boishakh, that is, the culture of Bengalis, everywhere in the country, including our courts. It is essential to use Bengali language and Bengali date in all fields. He said these things in his speech at the Baisakhi Poetry Evening and Discussion Meeting organized at the Seminar Hall of Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad in Dhaka on the occasion of Bengali New Year on April 18 (Friday) at the initiative of Kabi Sangsad Bangladesh. Poet Touhidul Islam Kanak, General Secretary of Kabi Sangsad Bangladesh, delivered the welcome speech at the event. Indian poet Debnishta Jana delivered the opening speech at the event. The chief guest was the Chairman of the Standing Council of Kabi Sangsad Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Nazrul Islam Tamiji.
