Lama Correspondent: A housewife named Maymuna Akhtar (38) committed suicide by hanging herself at Mohammad Ali's house in Lama, Bandarban, Hill District.
The incident took place at 7 pm on Wednesday (January 8) in Ward No. 6, West Nayapara, Phaitong Union. Maymuna is the wife of Mohammad Ali's son Md. Nurul Amin of Nayapara.
In-charge of Phaitong Police Outpost Javed Mahmud, who was at the scene, confirmed the incident and said that the reason for the suicide was not known. The initial examination of the body is being done.
Lama Police Station OC Shahadat Hossain said that the police were sent after receiving information about the incident. The body will be sent to Bandarban Sadar Hospital for autopsy at night.
