Rajshahi Bureau: DIG Molya Nazrul Islam (former GMP Commissioner) attached to Rajshahi's Sarada Police Academy and former Superintendent of Police Abdul Mannan of Sylhet district have been temporarily suspended from government service.
The information about the suspension was published in two separate notifications from the Police-1 branch of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday (March 17). On March 16, Senior Secretary Nasimul Gani signed the two notifications on the orders of the President.
The notification said that on February 9, DIG Mollah Nazrul Islam was arrested in connection with the case and handed over to the court.
Therefore, DIG Mollah Nazrul Islam was temporarily suspended from government service on February 9 as per the provisions of Section 39 (2) of the Government Services Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018).
Another notification said that on February 9, Abdul Mannan (former Sylhet District Police Superintendent) attached to the Rangpur Range DIG office was arrested and handed over to the court in connection with the case. The court ordered him to be sent to Sylhet Jail.
Therefore, Superintendent of Police Abdul Mannan was suspended from government service on February 9 under the provisions of Section 39 (2) of the Government Services Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018). The notification said that these two officers will be deprived of food allowance as per the rules.
