Mohammad Ahmed Ali (39), a leader of the Awami League in Ward 1 of Char Lakshya, Kornafuli Upazila, has been arrested by the police. He was arrested from his home around midnight on Sunday (February 2), confirmed by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kornafuli Police Station, Mohammad Sharif.
Ahmed Ali is the son of the late Roushan Ali from the Char Lakshya 1 Ward area. He is the General Secretary of the Awami League in Char Lakshya 1 Ward. OC Mohammad Sharif stated that a raid was conducted on Sunday night, and the accused was arrested. The individual has an active case registered against him at Chandgaon Police Station in the city.
He further mentioned that the accused has been transferred to Chandgaon Police Station for legal action.
