news desk: Aviation Security-AVSEC has arrested a passenger with yaba at Dhaka's Shahjalal International Airport.
The passenger, named Faiz Uddin, was arrested on Wednesday, said Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Public Relations Officer Muhammad Kausar Mahmud.
He said on Thursday that Faiz's home is in Dalirgaon village of Companiganj upazila in Sylhet.
Quoting AVSEC, Kausar Mahmud said that the passenger was scheduled to go to Riyadh on a Saudi Airlines flight (SV-805).
At 11:30 pm on Wednesday, a suspicious object was found in his bag during scanning at the boarding bridge-9 area. Later, 1,383 yaba pills were found in his bag.
The passenger with the yaba pills has been handed over to the airport narcotics control wing, said Kausar Mahmud.
