Shah Ali Bachchu from Jamalpur.:A human chain and press conference was held to protect the Chaparkona Kali temple and crematorium from the erosion of the Jhenai river on Saturday (June 28) adjacent to Doail Union Parishad No. 3 of Sarishabari Upazila of Jamalpur district.
The human chain and press conference were organized by all the devotees of the Hindu community of Chaparkona, Doloviti and Hatbari villages.
The human chain and press conference was presided over by Prabir Kumar Pal and moderated by the general secretary of the Kali temple and crematorium development committee, Binay Kumar Mahanta.
Morshed Alam, general secretary of Doail Union BNP, Saleh Akram Pallab, president of the Union Jubo Dal and others also spoke at the event.
The speakers at the human chain and press conference appealed to take necessary measures to protect the Kali Temple and the crematorium from the erosion of the Jhenai River as soon as possible.
In this regard, Assistant Commissioner Land and Acting Upazila Executive Officer Liza Richil said that if we receive an application to protect the Kali Temple and the crematorium, we will take necessary measures.
