The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement held a protest rally in Chittagong demanding the removal of quota-based discrimination in admission tests. The rally took place on Monday (January 20) at 11 AM in front of the Chittagong Press Club.
During the rally, Russell Ahmed, the coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, said, "Our brothers have given their lives to end quota discrimination. After so much bloodshed and loss of life, how can this discriminatory quota still exist?"
He further stated, "We demand that all admission tests be made free of quotas and that quota-based discrimination be eliminated. We want equality of opportunity for everyone by removing this discrimination."
The coordinator added, "Our movement was aimed at ending quota-based discrimination. The current government promised to eliminate quotas in all sectors and ensure admissions and recruitment based on merit. We demand that all quotas be removed as soon as possible and that opportunities are created on the basis of fairness for tribal people and the disabled, ensuring equality of opportunity."
Other leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement also spoke at the protest, reiterating their demand for the removal of quota-based discrimination.
