Hasnat Abdullah, the convener of the anti-discrimination student movement, said, "Hasina, you are standing against a different generation." He made this statement in a post on social media (Facebook) on Thursday morning, February 6. In the post, he shared a video link in the comments. The video shows a young man speaking to journalists. He is seen standing at the scene of the ongoing vandalism at House No. 32 in Dhanmondi.
He tells the journalists, “I’ve come here with enthusiasm. Our Gen Z generation is a big part of this movement. After coming here, I am feeling mixed emotions.” He continues, “The earlier Bangabandhu (Father of the Nation) was the Bangabandhu of our hearts. The post-1971 Bangabandhu, as you can see today, is different."
He tells the journalists, “Either you will die like a hero, or you will live long enough to discover yourself as a villain. This happened with Sheikh Hasina as well. It happened with Bangabandhu too. I hope that whoever comes to power in the future will remember the ultimate consequences of their actions.” The post has garnered various comments from netizens. One person wrote, "There is no place for fascism in Bangladesh. Inshallah, we are ready for the country."
Another comment reads, "Other political parties need to learn from this."
