Kazi Shahid, Gazipur Correspondent: Gazipur's Pubail Police Station has arrested a suspect in a robbery case in a raid. A Vivo Y-05 smartphone stolen in a robbery was recovered from his custody. Police said that the police were conducting a raid to identify and arrest the unidentified accused in the case of Pubail Police Station FIR No. 04, dated July 6, 2026, under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code, 1860, and to recover the stolen goods. In continuation of this, a police team led by Police Inspector (Unarmed) Md. Abu Bakar Siddique, SI (Unarmed) Md. Rafiqul Islam, ASI (Unarmed) Samad Sheikh and a police team led by DMP Dhaka conducted a raid in Shyampur, Jatrabari, Sutrapur and other areas with the help of information technology based on secret information. During the raid, on August 18, 2026, at around 6:55 pm, the accused Md. Robin Ahmed (19), identified during the investigation of the case, was arrested from a floating mobile shop on the sidewalk adjacent to Gate No. 7 of Gulistan Patal Market under Paltan Model Police Station of DMP Dhaka. Arrested Robin Ahmed is the son of Minal Khan of Purba Raki area of Munshiganj Sadar Police Station. Police said that he currently lives in the Mouchak (Book Garden) area of Siddhirganj, Narayanganj. Later, a black Vivo Y-05 smartphone was recovered from his possession and custody. Police said that the recovered mobile phone was part of the looted goods of the plaintiff in the case. The phone was seized at 7:15 pm on the same day after preparing a seizure list. Police further said that the arrested accused has been handed over to the court as per the rules after interrogation. Police operations are continuing to identify and arrest other accused in the case and recover the looted goods.
