Abdul Majid, Natore: : As the intensity of winter increases, the upazila administration has taken initiatives to alleviate the suffering of cold-stricken people. Last night, Bagatipara Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Ha-Meem-Tabassum Prabha of Natore distributed cold clothes from house to house in various villages of the upazila.
A team led by the Upazila Executive Officer delivered cold clothes to the poor and helpless people. Upon entering the village, they went door to door to find out about the cold-stricken people and handed over blankets and necessary cold clothes to them.
UNO Ha-Meem-Tabassum Prabha said, "I and Assistant Commissioner Land-Executive Magistrate Suraiya Momtaz are trying our best to alleviate the suffering of the cold-stricken people. It is our responsibility to deliver directly to them what the government has given us to alleviate their suffering."
Local residents said that this initiative of the administration has brought relief to their lives. Abdus Samad, an elderly beneficiary, said, "When I went to sleep at night, my sick wife, Chamena, would not sleep due to the cold. Now we will get some relief after getting this blanket."
The upazila administration said that this program will continue throughout the winter season and they will continue to support the poor people in the future as well.
This initiative by the Bagatipara upazila administration is commendable. The administration has set a shining example of humanity by standing by the people suffering from cold.
