Lakhai Correspondent: A group of miscreants attacked a minority Hindu family in Swajangram of Lakhai Union No. 1 of Lakhai Upazila of Habiganj with intent to kill in Swajangram. On January 26, at approximately 7 am, 10/15 people with country-made weapons attacked journalist Sunny Chandra Biswas, a resident of Purkayasthahati in Swajangram, and his family in a pre-planned manner. At that time, they cut his latrine pipe using a shovel and a spade, blocking the sewage system. Moreover, they threatened him and his family members with country-made weapons. Sunny Chandra Biswas said that for a long time, a group of miscreants has been trying to spread false propaganda and attacks against him. In continuation of this, due to a dispute with his neighbor Agni Kumar Das over his residence, a group of miscreants led by Lathial Wahab Mia, Firoz Mia, Nihar Dev, Gautam Karmakar, Dilip Das, Sukhan Sutradhar and others expelled him from the society. At their instigation, Agni Kumar Das forcibly occupied the ancestral residence of Sunny Chandra Biswas at various times and threatened him. A few days ago, when a local land survey was conducted, Sunny Chandra Biswas got back his lost land. But since his own evil intentions could not be fulfilled, at the instigation and fuel of the miscreants, he was expelled from the society and everyone cut off contact with him and carried out a pre-planned attack in the morning. Sunny Chandra Biswas' mother Bhajana Rani Biswas said, "We told you that we will expel your children from Malaun and we will file 5/6 cases against Agni Das and Mahuri Sukhan and make them destitute." Upon receiving the news, the in-charge of the Swajangram Police Investigation Center protected his family from the attack. Sunny Chandra Biswas's father Rakhesh Chandra Biswas said, "We are a minority. We are suffering from insecurity, we can be attacked at any time. I am afraid to file a case for security. They are threatening to cut off my and my sons' legs. Moreover, they will feed us from the bathroom toilet." Sunny Chandra Biswas also said that despite the ongoing case under Section 107 in the court, Agni Kumar Das got angry and tried to kill himself with a terrorist force. What could be more barbaric than this? This minority family is appealing to the administration for safety.
