Snigdha Roy Chowdhury: An introductory meeting of the newly elected committee of Purba Burirchar Sri Sri Radha Govinda Mandir in Barguna was held. The meeting was organized at the Elin Community Center in Uttar Badda, Dhaka on Sunday (August 23) afternoon. Santosh Dasgupta (Amit), Honorable Trustee, Hindu Religious Welfare Trust, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, was present as the inaugurator. Shri Gautam Chandra Banik, Honorable Trustee, Hindu Religious Welfare Trust, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, was present as the chief guest. Shri Hiran Chandra, Shri Liton Chandra and Shri Sanjay Chandra were present as special guests. The meeting was presided over by the General Secretary of Faria Lara Foundation, a prominent organizer, philanthropist, and social worker, Shri Tapan Kumar Howlader. The program was moderated by the General Secretary of the Temple Committee, Mithun Chandra. The overall supervision was provided by the temple president, Santosh Chandra Shil, and Madhuri Rani Sarkar. In his speech as the chief guest, Shri Gautam Chandra Banik congratulated the newly elected committee members. He said that the temple is not only a place of religious worship; it is an important center for practicing the moral and spiritual values of the people as well as preserving social harmony, religious traditions, and culture. Therefore, to further accelerate the development and religious activities of the temple, the committee members must work with mutual unity, transparency, and dedication. He further said that in addition to preserving the long-standing religious traditions and culture of the Sri Sri Radha Govinda Temple, the importance of the temple should be highlighted to the future generations. He also emphasized on involving devotees, local residents, and well-wishers in the development activities of the temple. In his inaugural address, Santosh Dasgupta (Amit) called upon the newly elected committee members to work together for the overall development of the temple as well as for the preservation of its religious heritage and culture. He said that the temple is an important part of the religious and cultural identity of a community. Therefore, everyone involved in its development and preservation must play a responsible role. The speakers at the meeting emphasized on preserving the temple's heritage, developing the temple premises, organizing regular religious programs, and ensuring a more beautiful and orderly environment for the devotees. In his speech as the president, Shri Tapan Kumar Howlader said that Sri Sri Radhagovinda is the custodian of the religious heritage and culture of the people of the temple area. He expressed his determination to work together with everyone for the overall development of the temple. General Secretary Mithun Chandra said that if all the committee members work together, the development activities of the temple will be further accelerated. For this, he sought the overall cooperation of the devotees and well-wishers associated with the temple. Temple committee members, devotees, dignitaries and well-wishers were present at the event. Later, the future work plan of the newly elected committee, religious activities, and the overall development of the temple were discussed in detail.
