A departing year is never merely a turn of the calendar. It is a living archive of struggles and achievements, of faith and doubt, of personal emotions and collective responsibilities. For me, 2025 was precisely such a year—one that left a deep imprint on my political consciousness, journalistic practice, social commitments, and personal life.As 2025 quietly fades away, it carries with it countless memories—moments of hope, moments of pain, lessons learned through experience, and dreams that refuse to fade. With those memories in my heart, I welcome 2026 with renewed expectations, stronger commitments, and a clearer sense of purpose.
2025: More Than Time, a Defining Chapter
Looking back, it becomes clear that 2025 was not simply a measure of time. It was a defining chapter in my life. Political struggle, social responsibility, and journalistic integrity intersected throughout the year, shaping both my actions and my reflections. I faced multiple battles—political, social, and professional. Not every struggle ended in victory, yet the number of defeats was limited. More importantly, each challenge strengthened my resolve and sharpened my understanding of responsibility and ethics.
The Political Context: The End of an Era
One of the most significant political events of 2025 was the departure of Begum Khaleda Zia from active political life. In the history of Bangladesh, her role transcends that of a former prime minister. To many, she symbolized resistance, hope, and political perseverance. Her departure marked the end of an era and raised crucial questions about the future of leadership, democratic accountability, and public trust. Having been involved in political movements and humanitarian initiatives under her leadership, I learned a fundamental lesson: politics is not merely about power—it is about responsibility, endurance, and honesty toward the people.
Politics: A Moral Responsibility
Remaining politically engaged in 2025 meant confronting ethical dilemmas on a daily basis. Bangladesh’s political landscape continues to face a crisis of trust. Many in positions of power have failed to uphold the confidence of the people. This reality compelled me to deepen my commitment to political awareness, justice, and truth. Politics, I firmly believe, is not a game played with public trust; it is a moral contract with the people—one that demands sincerity, courage, and accountability.
Journalism: The Duty to Speak the Truth
From a journalistic perspective, 2025 was a year of heightened challenges. Through Chattal Chitra and The Tourist, we worked consistently to deliver verified, relevant, and responsible information to our readers. The Tourist in particular became a platform for presenting Chattogram’s history, culture, tourism, and human stories to a global audience. It served not merely as a publication, but as a bridge between local identity and international recognition.
“Sada Kalo News House”: The Courage of Clarity
One of the most meaningful achievements of 2025 was the progress of Sada Kalo News House. Our guiding principle has always been clarity—calling white “white” and black “black.” Through this platform, we addressed issues of corruption, human rights violations, and social injustice with careful analysis and ethical responsibility. Our goal was not only to report events but to help readers understand reality. We believe that journalism can—and must—serve as the conscience of society.
Social and Personal Life: Meaningful Gains
On a social level, the support of family members, friends, and colleagues was my greatest strength throughout 2025. Amid political pressure and professional challenges, their presence helped me remain grounded and focused.
Personally, the most profound gain of the year was the presence of a beloved person in my life. This relationship goes beyond emotion; it is rooted in responsibility and commitment. Supporting this person in achieving their dreams has become one of my most meaningful life goals. This experience reinforced a vital truth: personal happiness and social responsibility are not separate paths—they strengthen one another.
Lessons and Commitments
The year 2025 taught me several enduring lessons:
Every achievement has value.
Every failure carries instruction.
Standing for truth and justice is never easy, but it is essential.
The convergence of political struggle, journalistic responsibility, and personal experience shaped my understanding of accountability toward society and humanity.
Moving Toward 2026
I hope 2026 will open a new chapter—marked by renewed goals, deeper struggles, and stronger dreams. Yet the experiences of 2025 will remain my guiding light. This year has taught me that truth, justice, responsibility, and trust form the core of a meaningful life. Carrying these lessons forward, I step into 2026 prepared—more aware, more committed, and more human. 2025 has passed, but it leaves behind a living testament: my journey, my struggles, and my unfading dreams.
