NSI and customs intelligence agencies have seized a consignment of 49 Samsung brand smartphones and 46 Nokia button mobile phones from abandoned trolley bags at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram. Public Relations Officer of Shah Amanat International Airport, Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil, confirmed this information to ‘The Daily Tourist.'. He also said that the National Security Intelligence Agency (NSI) and the Customs Intelligence Agency conducted a joint operation on the BG-152 flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Sharjah at around 10 am on Sunday.
A trolley bag without passengers was searched, and 95 mobile phones were recovered in the successful operation. The recovered goods have been handed over to airport customs. The estimated market value of the recovered mobile phones is Tk 18 lakh 30 thousand. Among them, the price of smartphones is 17 lakh 15 thousand, and the price of button phones is 1 lakh 15 thousand.
