IHRC Bangladesh Chapter President M A Hashem Raju Issues Message on International Human Rights Day 2025

Kamal Uddin:

On the occasion of International Human Rights Day 2025, observed on 10 December, M. A. Hashem Raju, President of the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) Bangladesh Chapter and former student leader, has issued a formal statement. In his message, he highlighted this year’s global theme—“Human Rights, Our Everyday Essentials” — which emphasizes that human rights are not privileges but fundamental components of everyday life. He stated, “Human Rights, Our Everyday Essentials—this year’s slogan reminds us that food, shelter, education, healthcare, safety, justice, and a life of dignity are not merely rights; they are inherent human demands. Fulfilling these demands is a collective responsibility of the state, society, and every citizen.” The IHRC Bangladesh Chapter, he said, firmly believes that human rights mean more than protection—they represent equality, dignity, opportunity, and democratic participation.  He added, “To build a just, inclusive, and humane society, we must integrate human rights into our daily practices. Real progress in human rights protection and implementation is possible only when each of us acts with a sense of responsibility and contributes to upholding these rights.” On this occasion, he extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Bangladesh and the global community, urging all to work together to strengthen the culture of human rights.
