UAE BNP Holds Discussion on National Revolution and Solidarity Day

On the occasion of the historic 7 November National Revolution and Solidarity Day, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Central Committee organized a discussion and prayer meeting in the United Arab Emirates. The event took place on Sunday night (9 November) at the ballroom of the Excelsior Sheraton Hotel in Dubai. The meeting was chaired by former UAE BNP Advisor Mohammad Azim Uddin and jointly conducted by Dubai BNP’s Acting General Secretary Md. Idris and Joint General Secretary Enamul Haque. The chief guest was Haji Sharafat Ali, Joint Convener of the UAE BNP Conveners Committee, while Sirajul Islam Nawab, member of the UAE BNP Conveners Committee, attended as the keynote speaker. Special guests included committee members Rafiqul Islam Khan, Md. Nur Nabi Bhuiyan, Mohammad Zahidul Islam, Mohammad Golap Mia, Engineer Mofizul Islam, Azizul Islam Ritu, Tejgaon Jubo Dal President Mohammad Solaiman, Dubai BNP Acting President Md. Abul Mansur, former Dubai Jubo Dal President Mahmudul Hasan Ferdous, Sharjah BNP Vice President Syed Jamal, Dubai BNP Vice President Md. Zane Alam, youth leaders Mizanur Rahman, Mohammad Tarek, Naser Bhuiyan, Dubai Jubo Dal President Yunus Bacchu, Md. Masud, and other leaders from various units and affiliated organizations. Speakers emphasized that 7 November is an unforgettable day in Bangladesh’s history. On this day in 1975, when the nation faced political uncertainty, the unity of the soldiers and the people foiled a conspiracy against national independence and sovereignty. On that day, the martyred President Ziaur Rahman was freed from captivity and ascended to state power, later introducing multi-party democracy in the country. They further noted that the ideals of the martyred President Ziaur Rahman remain a symbol of democracy and independence today. Expressing confidence, the speakers said that under the leadership of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, the country will once again achieve victory in the movement to restore democracy. At the event, the speakers also called on the party high command to nominate BNP leader Gias Uddin Qader Chowdhury from the Dhanshish symbol for the Chattogram Rauzan constituency in the 13th national parliamentary elections. The discussion concluded with a prayer ceremony (Doa Mahfil) for the forgiveness of the soul of the martyred President Ziaur Rahman, as well as for the good health and long life of Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman.
