Under the decisive leadership of Chattogram Metropolitan Police Commissioner Hasib Aziz, several dedicated police officers have played a pivotal role in maintaining law and order across the city, and among them, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Panchlaish Police Station Mohammad Solaiman stands out as an exceptionally committed, skilled, and highly respected law enforcement officer. OC Solaiman’s personal competence, integrity, and unwavering sense of responsibility have earned him the trust and admiration of the people of Panchlaish. Despite holding the highest academic degree in Journalism from the University of Chittagong, he chose the police uniform over the pen, and his journalistic insight has strengthened his policing by helping him understand when to apply force, when to rely on intelligence and strategy, and when effective communication with the public is crucial. Under his leadership, the law and order situation in Panchlaish has seen significant improvement as he maintains direct communication with local residents to establish the police as friendly, accessible, and supportive. His mission extends beyond crime suppression toward ensuring the safety, peace, and comfort of every citizen in the area. His major actions and successful operations include strong measures against drugs, mugging, extortion, and violent crime, rapid investigation and swift arrests in the gruesome No. 2 Gate murder case, and the effective use of operational strategies and technology during raids. He has also emphasized community awareness by arranging regular campaigns on crime prevention, road safety, and social issues, strengthening the image of the police as friends and protectors, and conducting sessions in schools, colleges, and community centers to guide the youth.

In terms of road safety and accident prevention, he ensured regular patrolling, strict enforcement of traffic laws, increased public awareness, and quick response in accident-related emergencies. His special operations include the immediate arrest of suspects within three hours in the Mokkhi Building robbery and hostage case, as well as the arrest of notorious extortionist and armed criminal Mithun Chakraborty, demonstrating the active, intelligent, and responsive policing under his command. Several notable incidents further highlight his effectiveness, including the July 16, 2024 attack on students in Muradpur, where police quickly identified and arrested Selim Rahman and his associates involved in the killings and assaults; the February 4, 2025 robbery and hostage case where two victims were rescued and the entire gang dismantled, reinforcing public trust in the police; and the December 22, 2024 extortion and arms recovery operation resulting in the arrest of Mithun Chakraborty, which further enhanced police credibility.

OC Solaiman has not only curbed crime but has also taken important steps to make policing more people-oriented, efficient, and disciplined, transforming Panchlaish Police Station into a secure, trustworthy, and strong institution for the community. In recognition of his merit, leadership, and dedication, Police Commissioner Hasib Aziz appointed him as the Officer-in-Charge of Baklia Police Station, and analysts believe he will bring the same competence, insight, and strategic leadership to Baklia, ensuring strong law enforcement and public safety. OC Mohammad Solaiman’s innovative leadership, hard work, honesty, and welfare-driven outlook have become a shining example for Chattogram’s police administration, where under his command the local police force is not only suppressing crime but also building a new relationship with the public based on trust, respect, and cooperation.
