Alam Khan:A terrible road accident occurred near Naeem Uddin Khala in Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi at approximately 5:35 pm today, Saturday (July 13). It is reported that at least 20 passengers were injured in a head-on collision between two passenger buses named Ananya Super and Monohardi Paribahan bound for Shibpur.
Eyewitnesses said that both buses were moving at a high speed. Suddenly, they lost control and collided head-on, causing the front parts of both buses to twist and twist. Locals quickly rushed to the spot, rescued the injured and sent them to various nearby hospitals including Shibpur Upazila Health Complex.
Doctors said that the condition of some of the injured was critical. Upon receiving the news of the accident, Shibpur police reached the spot and brought the situation under control and normalized traffic.
The police have started an investigation to find out the exact cause of the road accident. There is a kind of panic in the area due to this incident.
Locals have called for stricter measures to ensure safer roads.
