In 2008, I first joined Maheshpur Union Parishad of Raipura Upazila as Union Parishad Secretary and started my career. From Maheshpur Union Parishad, I joined Narsingdi Sadar Upazila Mahishashura Union in 2011. After serving for 7 years, I joined Putia Union Parishad in Shibpur Upazila in 2017 and joined Narsingdi Sadar Upazila Nuralapur Union Parishad in 2020. After working there for 4 years, Shibpur in 2024. Upazila Putia Union Parishad re-joined the common people's birth registration, death registration, trade license, inheritance certificate, along with the responsibilities and duties of the Union Parishad Secretary: As a responsible employee of the Union Parishad, he performs many responsibilities from budget preparation to plan formulation.
The duties and responsibilities of the secretary are as follows: Preservation of documents: The secretary is responsible for preserving all the documents of the Union Parishad. Recorded the minutes of the meeting. Save the recommendation book. Arranged to inform the members of all the decisions of the meeting starting from the notification of the monthly meeting. Monthly, quarterly and annual reports and comments are recorded by the Secretary.
Office management The government has laws and regulations for the management of local councils. According to those laws and rules, the secretary manages the office of the Union Parishad.
Secretary keeps various necessary documents in office management. The Chairman is the public representative and the Secretary is a permanent employee of the Union Parishad. As the chairman is busy with various tasks, he cannot devote time to office work in many cases. In that case, the secretary assists the chairman in office work. Exchange all news of the Union Parishad and record them. On behalf of the Union Parishad, the secretary performs the responsibility of maintaining communication. Stores various news, letters, telegrams etc. and maintains communication with various government offices at district and upazila levels.

Budget: The secretary plays a role in preparing the budget for the smooth management and implementation of plans of the Union Parishad. Mohalladar prepares salary of dafadars, receipt of expenditure on development work, payment of miscellaneous expenses of running the office, draft of income expenditure for the year.
Legally, various sources of income are identified which are implemented by the Chairman. Preservation of accounts and documents: Performed the responsibility of preserving the accounts of the Union Parishad. Maintains cash book, tax, rate and fee collection book and other collection and license payment receipts. The secretary keeps the registers of taxes, grants, loans, donations, stocks, stamps, etc. on houses and lands in a specific form, so that in the future the authorities or institutions can easily and promptly take them out.
Property management: The secretary keeps the necessary documents for the management, preservation, supervision and development of the Union Parishad's own property such as property > acquisition, sale, donation, mortgage, exchange, lease etc. All property documents, contracts and property lease documents of the Union Parishad are stored in the guard file as permanent documents.
Developmental work: Vouchers or receipts are kept for the development work of the Union Parishad such as road construction, bridge construction, excavation work, installation of tube wells etc. Hat-Bazaar development books such as cash book, bank account book, check book, registrar and bank money deposit book, letter sending and receiving registrar and miscellaneous expenses vouchers, guard files etc.
Adjudicative Proceedings: The Secretary receives the fee that the plaintiff submits to appear before a trial or arbitration is held. Secretary issues summons or notice to the accused through Village Police (Chowkidar) on the order of the Chairman. The secretary records the judgment announcement and related documents in the form of documents.
Project Formulation Union Parishad Secretary plays an important role in project formulation. In this he can help with his valuable experience and ideas.
Assists the Chairman and Council regarding project objectives, estimated costs and funding during the project preparation stage. In the implementation of the project, the secretary plays a role in project supervision and monitoring. Advise on future precautions and necessary amendments during project evaluation. Served as Secretary, Member-Secretary in V, G, D Committee of Union Parishad and assisted the Union Parishad by saving necessary documents of the project. Assists in preparation of D,P list of poor persons to whom relief or aid can be distributed by looking at Union Parishad's tax exclusion list. Recorded the discussions, proposals or agendas of the various meetings of the works program and comments on the agenda. Maintained records of formulation, implementation and evaluation of various programs.
