Alam Khan (Narsingdi): The central and field-level officers and employees of the Election Commission Secretariat have announced to observe the 'Stand for NID' program across the country.
Officers and employees of the Narsingdi District Election Office have observed a strike to demand that the National Identity Card service program be kept in the Election Commission. Officers and employees of the Narsingdi District and Upazila Election Offices have observed a two-hour strike and formed a human chain to demand that the National Identity Card service program be kept in the Election Commission.
As part of the central program on Thursday, they observed a human chain in front of the District Election Office from 11 am to 1 pm.
Earlier, the central and field level officers and employees of the Election Commission Secretariat announced the implementation of the 'Stand for NID' program across the country.
Convener and Deputy Secretary of the Bangladesh Election Commission Officers Association Mohammad Monir Hossain highlighted the program at a press conference organized at the EC's Media Center at the Election Bhaban in Agargaon, Dhaka on Wednesday.
It was said that from 11 am to 1 am on Thursday, Election Commission-EC employees will take a stand in front of their offices across the country.
Election officers and employees of the district and six upazilas, led by Narsingdi District Election Officer Shahin Akand, participated in the human chain.
