Tongibari (Munshiganj) Correspondent: Chathatipara is a peaceful village in Panchgaon Union of Tongibari Upazila of Munshiganj district. About 50-60 Hindu families live in Baidyabari of this village. The total number of Hindus is about two hundred. Hindu-Muslim harmony is also noticeable.
But recently, due to the aggressive attitude of Awal Hossain Bepari, the eldest son of Haji Billal Bepari, a resident of this village, there is fear in the minds of Hindu residents of this village. There is a temple on the south side of Baidyabari. Awal Hossain Bepari has been trying to seize the site of this temple for a long time. Through various frauds, he has forcibly taken possession of some parts of the temple land and the land of many Hindus. Talking about the matter, many have been beaten up. Although he was stopped in the face of opposition from the villagers, he was seen filling sand late at night to build a road next to the temple site. There is evidence that he is conducting such activities with the help of some local gangsters and terrorists. The victims fear that if the administration does not take action in this regard, many properties of Hindus will fall into the illegal possession of Awal Hossain Bepari.
