Welcoming Summer Festival Celebrated in Los Angeles with a Grand Event

Shariful Haque: On Sunday afternoon, August 31, 2025, the much-awaited annual cultural event “Summer Welcome Festival 2025” was held at the ‘Little Dhaka Chattar’ located in the heart of Los Angeles. Through a grand event, the event turned into a charming cultural evening with the participation of artists from Bangladesh and various states of America and local talented artists from California. Expatriate Bengalis intoxicated even in the scorching summer: Despite the scorching summer sun, expatriate Bengalis flocked to the venue from 4 pm. The once small Little Dhaka Chattar transformed into a gathering full of Bengali culture. The festival became lively and memorable with the presence of visitors of all ages. Grand Opening and Program Parikrama: The program began auspiciously with the hosting of popular presenter Mithun Chowdhury and the singing of vocalist Afroz Lucky.

The program was divided into two parts: Part 1: Performance by local artists: In the first part, a comprehensive arrangement of music, poetry and dance was performed with the participation of local artists. Notable performances included: • Poetry: Monir Khan • Music: Shahi Amna, NTV's Close-up One fame Apol Hafizur Rahman, Kaberi Rahman, Adnan Khan, Papri Sarkar • Dance: Ahona Rahman, Simran, Upma Chaiti Part 2: Performance by special invited artists: In the second part, the audience enjoyed the wonderful performance of popular singer Kishore Das and popular artist Rumel Khan of the band 'Feedback'. The entire Little Dhaka Chattar was filled with their songs. Lifetime Achievement Award: Syed M Hossain Babu, This year, the lifetime achievement award was given to prominent cultural figure Syed M Hossain Babu. This award was given in recognition of his contribution to Bengali literature, culture and cinema. Sincerity of the organizers: The founding president of the Summer Welcome Festival, Md. Rafiqul Haque Raju, has shown utmost sincerity in making this event a success. He expressed his sincere wishes and thanks to everyone. The pleasant cultural program was successfully held. The overall management of the program was Marvin Adhikari Rupam, and the role of those who worked tirelessly from the front and back to make the program a success is very important. Especially the vocalists Adnan Khan, Ehteshamul Haque Shyamal, Mohammad Rocky, Ariful Islam Nirab, Arfan Niloy, Adian Haque and Sabrina Haque Simu played a significant role. The program has gained a new dimension with the cooperation and creative participation of each of them.
