The prosecution has obtained significant call records of those involved in the July-August genocide, including Sheikh Hasina, along with crucial evidence related to the disappearances. However, prosecutors have accused the tribunal of not cooperating in providing information.
On Monday afternoon, prosecutors Tanveer Hasan Joha and B.M. Sultan Mahmud informed the International Criminal Tribunal that they had obtained vital call records related to the genocide and evidence regarding the disappearances.
During a briefing, prosecutor Tanveer Joha told the media that important information regarding the disappearances had been found and arrangements had been made to conceal the evidence of the killings. Significant call records of those involved have also been obtained.
The trial at the International Criminal Tribunal is currently addressing the crimes against humanity committed during the July-August killings. Initially, the killings that occurred in Bangladesh during July and August, linked to the student movement and the subsequent political unrest, are being referred to as "genocide."
While there are varying opinions on the number of casualties, the exact figure has not yet been determined. However, according to a list provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the death toll stands at 708. The process of compiling a definitive list of the victims is ongoing.
