Maksud Ahammed, Returend from Rupganj (Narayanganj): An allegation has been made against the headmaster of the school for selling government trees in the premises of Pitalganj Brahmankhali Government Primary School No. 23 in Rupganj Upazila of Narayanganj. The incident has created widespread discussion and criticism among local guardians and locals. Yesterday, Wednesday, June 25, when I went to the ground, I saw the scene of cutting trees and cutting large branches in the name of tree pruning. According to the complaint source, the locals have alleged that valuable trees and tree trunks in the school premises have been sold without proper permission. They claim that the rules and regulations set for the sale of government assets were not followed and an attempt was made to keep the matter secret. They have demanded that the concerned authorities investigate the incident and take necessary action. In this regard, the school's head teacher Mina Rani Bhowmik said, "The trees and branches above the school building have been cut. We have been given a letter from above. So, we have to clean the weeds on the roof of the building." In this regard, Rupganj Upazila Primary Assistant Education Officer Taslima Akhter said, "I am in charge of the Rupganj cluster. And I do not know anything about the cutting of these trees. No letter has been given from our side in this regard. And I will look into this matter very carefully." On the other hand, Rupganj Upazila Primary Education Officer Nazmun Nahar said, "I have only been in Rupganj for three days. We will investigate whether the rules set for the sale of government trees have been followed or not. If the allegations are found to be true, necessary administrative action will be taken against those concerned." The locals demand that an impartial investigation into the incident is necessary to ensure transparency in the management of government resources. They have called on the concerned authorities to publish the real information after the investigation into the allegations.
