Calling for an end to factional politics, Hummam Kader Chowdhury, a member of the central executive committee of BNP, stated that if unity weakens, politics will become even harder. He made this statement while speaking as the chief guest at a mass rally in Rangunia, Chattogram, on Saturday, February 1, 2025, organized for the implementation of the 31-point agenda.
Hummam Kader Chowdhury said, "I have come to Rangunia, and I want to ask something from you. My father, Salahuddin Kader Chowdhury, always said that I received a lot from the people of Rangunia. I have received a lot of love and respect here. As the son of Salauddin Kader Chowdhury, I want to ask for one thing: there should be no more factionalism in BNP. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party is one family. When everyone in the family stays together, only then can they remain strong. You all should stay united. Only then will we have a member from Rangunia as a member of parliament from BNP."
He added, "The Awami League has taught people all the illegal businesses. Just a short while ago, people even lost their lives in these businesses. These businesses are no longer needed. For 16 years, the Awami League has been involved in such business. Village after village was submerged in the river due to the sand business. And who made money from this? Ershad Mahamud, Hasan Mahamud. We can no longer tolerate these Mahamuds. Now, I want to say that Awami League is announcing a program. A program banner takes two people. Let’s see where two Awami League members stand together."
He further stated, "In the past 16 years, many BNP leaders and activists have been victims of attacks and cases. Stand by them, because if they are not with us, we cannot become leaders. And let me also say, there is no place for hypocrites in BNP. Those who flattered the Awami League for money, there is no place for them anymore."
The rally was chaired by Advocate Kamal Hossain Chowdhury, Joint Convener of Rangunia Upazila BNP. The main speakers were Muhammad Shawkat Ali Noor, a member of Chattogram North District BNP, and Professor Muhammad Mohsin. Special guests included Yusuf Chowdhury, Senior Vice President of Chattogram North District Jubo Dal, Haji Ilyas Sikder, Joint Convener of Rangunia Upazila BNP, Khorshed Alam, Helal Uddin Shah, Joint Convener of Rangunia Municipal BNP, and Mohammad Masiuddoula, among others.
