On January 29th (Wednesday) at 7:00 PM, Mohammad Nasir Uddin Chowdhury held a press conference at NC Trading in Aiman Tower, Chawk Bazaar, Chattogram. He called for administrative intervention to put an end to the extortion, and land-grabbing activities of criminals.
Nasir Uddin Chowdhury explained that after spending 26 years in prison under a fascist, illegitimate government, he was freed on August 5, 2024, following a revolution by students and the public. He mentioned that in the past, Fatikchhari had turned into a haven for terrorists. He took a stand against these criminals and worked hard to liberate Fatikchhari from their control, providing the people of Fatikchhari with a peaceful, extortion-free area. As a result, the entire population of Fatikchhari loves him. During his long imprisonment, he lost two brothers and his father.
He further shared that after his release, he kept himself busy with business activities. During this time, a group of malicious individuals started using his name to extort money in garment factories, sand quarries, and various other businesses in Chattogram and across the country. He has already lodged complaints with the police commissioner and various police stations to take action against these extortionists.
He emphasized that the main purpose of this press conference was to inform the authorities about this matter. He clarified that he has never been involved in terrorism or extortion and will never be in the future.
The press conference was attended by Mohammad Shahid Ali Chowdhury, Didarul Alam, Abbas Uddin Ansari, and others.
