Md,Masuduzzaman (Rajib), Staff Reporter: Members of Feni Battalion 4 BGB conducted an anti-smuggling operation in the border area of Chhagalnaiya upazila of Feni district on Thursday, August 21 and arrested a smuggler named Md. Hridoy (18) along with Hilsa fish. The arrested Hridoy is the son of Md. Khorshed Alam of Bolipara village of Ramgarh police station in Khagrachhari district. The estimated market value of the seized Hilsa fish is Tk 22,500. Lieutenant Colonel Mosharraf Hossain, commander of Feni-4 Battalion BGB, confirmed this information in a press release sent to the media on Thursday. The press release also said that the process of handing over the seized Hilsa fish and the arrested accused to Chhagalnaiya police station is under process. Hilsa is the national asset of Bangladesh and the BGB is always vigilant at the border to protect this asset. In addition, Feni Battalion (4 BGB) continues to conduct operational activities and intelligence activities to maintain security at the border, prevent smuggling, and prevent illegal infiltration. BGB's strict policy against smuggling will continue.
