Although not openly, this business, which is done by drug dealers under political patronage, is destroying the youth and society, but no one is opening their mouths out of fear. As a result, the deadly drug Yaba is available just by raising your hand. Marijuana and Phensedyl are found here and there. According to information obtained from various sources after visiting the site, Yaba is being sold openly every day from morning to late at night in various areas including Saheb Bazar, Mirpur, Rani Bungalow Road, Sameshpur, Sinduriapara, Harindhara, Raipur, Jhumur, Nazirabazar, Sharifpur, Farizpur, Tutabagan, Bajehura, Bajebaherchar, Moinpur, Bagilara and others in Mainamati Union. According to sources, drug dealers openly say that besides political influencers, the police station, outpost police, and the Narcotics Control Department are managing this business. Drug addicts from different far-flung places flock to the mentioned places every day to buy drugs. Local youth, youth society, school-college students and people from different classes and professions are also not left out. As a result, theft and robbery are also increasing at a large rate locally. Recently, due to the increase in thefts, the Rural Electricity Association has been miking to warn customers. Local people are also constantly experiencing insecurity as strangers from far and wide come and go here. Multiple local sources, who do not wish to be named, said that they are extremely worried about their children being tortured by drug addicts. The guardians of many local families are becoming helpless while providing money for drugs to their drug addict children. They also said that if any complaint is made against the drug addicts, the sellers are threatening to attack them and file a case.
