In Chandanaish, Chittagong, a mobile court launched an operation after receiving reports of soil being illegally extracted from agricultural land under the cover of night. During the operation, four dumper trucks loaded with soil and an excavator were seized.
The raid took place on Sunday (January 26) at 11:00 PM in the Bahrampara area of Satbaria Union in the upazila. The operation was led by the Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Chandanaish Upazila and Executive Magistrate Diplomacy Chakma.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) Diplomacy Chakma said, "Based on a tip-off, we conducted the raid. Upon arriving at the scene, we found evidence of soil extraction from agricultural land. While the dumper trucks and excavator were seized, the drivers fled the scene. No one involved in the excavation was found at the location. Legal actions will be taken accordingly." He also mentioned that such operations would continue.
