Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chaudhuri Abdullah Al-Mamun said that strict measures are being taken against those involved in vandalism and violent crimes such as vehicle vandalism and arson and will continue to be prosecuted. He said all this in the president's speech at a meeting regarding the safe movement of goods and passenger vehicles at the police headquarters on Sunday afternoon. Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun called upon the transport owners-workers leaders to form public opinion about the owners, workers and passengers in order to maintain a comfortable environment in the country and keep the traffic normal. He mentioned that security of vehicles will be provided on the highway during the blockade. Special Branch Additional IGP Md Monirul Islam, Additional IGP (Crime and Operations) Md Atiqul Islam, Highway Range Additional IGP Md Shahabuddin Khan, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Habibur Rahman, Dhaka Range DIG Syed Nurul Islam, Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation President and Awami League Presidium Member Shajahan Khan MP, Opposition Chip Whip Moshiur Rahman Ranga MP, Secretary General of Bangladesh Road Transport Owners Association Khandaker Enazayat Ullah, Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation General Secretary Osman Ali, Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners Association Chairman Shri Ramesh Chandra Ghosh and Secretary General Labor leaders including Abu Raihan were present. RAB Director General M Khurshid Hossain, CMP, KMP, RMP, BMP, SMP, GMP, RPMP Commissioner and DIGs of Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Chittagong, Khulna, Barisal and Sylhet ranges were connected online in the meeting. The police chief urged transport workers and drivers to call the national emergency service 999 for assistance in case of emergency. The IGP said, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, we all have been able to eradicate militancy and terrorism by working together in unity. We are ready to face any challenge related to law and order in the future as well.
